* OERTEL and ERTEL of Kandel, Rhineland-Pfalz. Christening records in the IGI show a Friedrich Oertel christened 28 May 1816 in the Evangelish Church, village of Kandel, Rhineland-Pfalz which was a part of Bavaria (Bayern) at that time. Parents were Ludwig OERTEL and Margaretha ROTHIN. Philipp ERTEL was christened in the same church, same town, 4 April 1813. Parents were Ludwig ERTEL and Eva Margaretha ROTHIN.
